Moving your data into Mimsy XG.

Willoughby Associates has converted almost 8 million electronic records over the past 15 years. We begin by analyzing source fields in your existing database and pair them with target fields in MIMSY XG. Our staff creates a written map and then we send our data analysis and conversion materials to you to review, comment on, and accept. After you approve a final map, programming specifications are written from the map, and a conversion program is written. The data is then processed and loaded into a MIMSY XG database. The end result is that your data is converted into the corresponding fields in your new system.

Number of Tables:
If your database has multiple tables with the same number, type, and length of fields, you may usually combine the tables so they can be converted as a single unit. The museum may combine the tables on-site prior to conversion or contract with Willoughby to combine the data on a time and materials basis as part of the conversion process.

Pricing:
Conversion pricing from legacy systems is provided upon request. Our average conversion costs between $5000 - $12,000 depending on the number of fields that need to be migrated to MIMSY XG. Although all conversions are done on a time and materials basis, we recommend a “per field” estimate of $25 per field.

To receive a quote, please send us an ASCII delimited pull of your legacy database. Comma delimiters are strongly discouraged. Museum data normally contains commas (titles, names, descriptions) and these often make a comma delimiter unusable. Data delimiters (such as quotes) should not be included as part of the export as these also occur in raw data. Our preferred delimiter is a pipe or a tab character.
